Brass Rewind is…

Brass Rewind is a premier jazz-rock-dance horn band in Kansas City, formed in 2019 — showcasing the memorable music of the greats: Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire, Steely Dan, Blood Sweat & Tears, Ides of March, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, and more!

Brass Rewind features the superb vocals of Br. John and Niome along with an all-star horn section of KC’s finest players and a rhythm section that puts the boogie in “boogie down”.

Audiences leave their seats to dance, clap, sing along, and relive the classic music that flooded the air waves when record stores were cool and bands featured real horn sections.

The band has performed its high-energy show at theaters, concert series, and festivals, with repeated performances at The Plaza Art Fair, Junction City Octoberfest, Clinton Missouri Old Glory Days, Linden Square Concert Series, Raytown Greenspace Concerts, Zona Rosa Concert Series, Kansas City Museum Concert Series, the Aztec Shawnee Theater, and other venues in Missouri and Kansas – and will be expanding its reach in the next year.

Brass Rewind’s full horn-band sound, great variety of classic favorites, and captivating energy make every performance one to remember!

Reviews of Brass Rewind

Brass Rewind is on stage right now at the Junction City Oktoberfest and wanted to compliment the players. You are outstanding every one of you. Of course the lead vocalist-fantastic! Thanks for being part of the fest and bringing some of the best sounds to our diverse community. Love it!

I see from this band’s schedule that they will be performing again at Zona Rosa on June 25. If you missed their last concert, now is the time to make plans to see them on June 25 from 6:30 to 8:30. They are the best. Don’t miss this one.

I can’t tell anything bad about this group. I love the music that they play. I especially love the horn section. Brother John and Michelle work so fabulously together. Jerry is awesome on the ivories. I just love Steely Dan, Chicago, and Brass Rewind does an outstanding job of matching the originals. Give it up for Brass Rewind!!!

The band rehearses in my neighborhood, but this is the first I have heard in concert. You folks are awesome and need to be heard all over our region. Such talent. Keep up the good work.

Live Sound:

We love to work with the many superb professional live sound companies available in the midwest. We also can provide live sound ourselves for venues inside or outside dependant on crowd size.

Stage requirements:

Brass Rewind is not a small group therefore the bigger the stage area the better. Plan on a stage area of 30’x20′ or larger for the best performance.

Lighting:

We are able to provide stage lighting when needed.

Power:

We require 2 to 4 outlets of clean power at the stage preferably on dedicated 20 amp circuits.
